Have you ever wondered how you’ve cultivated your TRUTH – your STORY? The story you tell yourself every day is comprised of a conglomerate of data and experiences you’ve lived. It is made up of the experiences you’ve observed others go through. It is based on HOW you are telling yourself this story. But is this the TRUTH and can we change it?
Ever wondered how much our truths shape the actions that we take (or don’t take- or how we take them)? What do you believe is possible or impossible based on the story you tell yourself? Whatever it may be, all stories are made up.
One subject most of us can relate to would be the story of money. We’ve all got a story around money and unfortunately it’s usually connected to a story about scarcity. Something we share collectively- to save, save, save and to spend as little as possible. Or even worse, feel guilty when we do spend.
The story or “your truth” about money (like all other stories) was learned outside of ourselves. It’s not something we inherently knew, but rather learned from others. Sometimes it’s a challenge to separate yourself from these truths. What is important to consider however is that the things we value and the actions we take (or don’t take) are shaped by the truths we accept.

Listen in to this podcast on Your Truth vs. The Truth. I share my training experience where I learned how to connect with himself better. One concept that really stuck was the idea around assessment vs. assertion. I learned that assessment is something we have an opinion on whereas an assertion is either true or false. When it comes to assessments, it has been useful for him to ask himself where he got “that” opinion on “that subject.” Truly being able to take a step back can help to determine the relevancy of the story you are telling yourself. Again, this shapes everything we perceive.
Do you believe you have the mindset of abundance or scarcity? Do you believe there are not enough clients or plenty? Someone who feels abundant possesses an attitude that clients are out there- they just need to be identified. Adopting the mindset of abundance is essential if you want to move forward.
The process of identifying the real reason you are not taking action is important because that will reveal what your truth is. Once your face your own truth and decide to tell yourself a different story, it will open you open to more possibilities. Remember, your truth shapes your actions, potential and ultimately your future.
