DC’s Target Audience: DC’s target market is social entrepreneurs. She defines a social entrepreneur as someone who is committed to having a very profitable business that also adds value to humanity.” They do something that does well. People who are service-oriented and money-oriented tend to be much happier, healthier, more fulfilled human beings.
DC Cordova is an extraordinary leader and businesswoman in the world today. She is the CEO of such notable companies as Money and You, and Excellerated Business School for Entrepreneurs, which has produced over 10,000 graduates around the world. Her Excellerated Business School has educated some of the elite business forces today including Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, the late Robert Mitchell of Paul Mitchell Products, Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry’s and T. Harv Eker.
But her claim to fame doesn’t end there, in addition to being a Dame (the female version of a Knight), she was also business partners with Robert Kiyoaski at the beginning of his success. From around 1985-1994, she and Robert worked together. In fact, his philosophies stem from the teachings he learned from her organization.
In this episode, she shares with us what those teachings are, how you can use them too and how social entrepreneurship is changing the globe.
Practical & Actionable (at 28:10):
DC gives us this advice about practical and actionable steps to doing what you love, being happy doing it and making money: “Get very clear on how to monetize your niche. Put yourself in an entrepreneurial program, do an education program. Clear your blocks. People are trained to be poor. If they don’t have the mindset for being successful, they are not going to make it. It’s a combination of the invisible and very sound business principles.”
DC says to set a goal right now, and it’s a two-part goal.
First, ask yourself: how much money do you want your company to bring in revenue-wise? And second what is the number for you that you will consider yourself financially independent?
These are 2 different numbers. This is not money-oriented, this is pointing your compass in a certain direction financially. Being clear on what’s your niche is kind of like the contextualization within which that financial goal fits.
