Kim’s Target Audience: As a master of the big four social media platforms, Kim’s target market is entrepreneurs and business owners who want to learn and ultimately have a thriving business from social media and personal branding.
Kim Garst knows firsthand what it means to be in the trenches of building a business and creating your success. When her first son was born, she didn’t want him in daycare. She chose to be at home with him and to figure out how make a living in the process. Sounds very simple right? Well that was over 20 years ago, in the days of dial-up Internet connections and AOL!
Her biggest hurdle back then was lack of information. She stumbled, tripped and generally struggled; in fact, it took her four years before she made a dime.
Eventually with persistence, patience and determination, she made her first seven figures from her dining room table. Since her first succcess, she has gone on to create a total of four businesses that have earned seven figures! Today she is a social media and personal branding champ; she has partnered with Boom! Social to bring her knowledge and insights to an even larger audience.

Practical & Actionable (at 31:40):
Here’s what Kim says to do to get yourself out of the trenches.
One of the first things is to believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, other people won’t either. That belief starts with the core knowledge that you can do it. After that, you have to understand who you are serving because that’s a critical component.
What if you don’t know what you can do for those you want to serve? Sit down and make a list of what you feel you can do for your ideal client.
The next step, according to Kim, is to put your ear to the ground online if that’s where the primary part of your business is going to be. See if those things that you think you do or can help people do, are things somebody else is looking for. And remember, people don’t search for solutions, they search for their problems or their pain points.
One surefire way to know you’re on the right track is market research. It’s at your finger tips; use it to determine if what you are offering meets a need.
And finally, Kim says to love what you do and love what you bring to the table for your ideal prospect.
