Billy Boughey You must, must, must know where you are going.  The vision that you see is essential to achieving your goals.  Billy Boughey started his business with a vision that pulled him through his goals.  Billy wanted to create unique experiences in all the events he was involved with.

He has been blessed to work with brands such as Coca Cola, Chick-fil-a, John Maxwell and Leadercast.  Billy shares his journey to creating Elevate Live Events and the moments that he endured while “in the trenches” of his business.

Billy’s Target Audience: Billy’s target market is companies wanting to create world-class live event experiences to impact customers and team members for positive change.

Billy is a husband and a father from Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Auburn University, and his love of the stage and the audience began there. In one of those life-changing moments, he was first called to the stage to replace a host, who had taken ill suddenly. It was during that experience that he realized he loved the stage; he loved to connect with the audience.

Today he works for an organization called Elevate Live Events, a company that exists to stage and to lead. He is passionate about family life, a passion that translates into his workplace by helping him create impactful moments. Having connected his family life with his job, the things he does on stage also serves him well when he goes back home.

In this episode of Leaders In The Trenches, Billy talks about organizing events and how important it is to create the right experience for the people we work with. He says we should start by listening to the clients. When you ask questions and learn about their vision, this gives you the information you need to make the outcome personalized and customized. People will value that you provided them with outcomes.

He says you have to ask clients what they actually want, start with a question like: How do you want other people to Tweet or post on Instagram about this experience? This will give you the required data to work on a customized solution.

Billy also talks about the triggers that actually pulled him out when he was in the trenches. He segmented his work week dedicating his time on achieving different things. He visualized how much time he was spending on creating revenue, actually performing, encouraging others and being part of a team.

This allowed him to step back and spend time to work on the business, specifically marketing and sales. What triggered him to lead in the trenches was segmentation and having timeframes for separate activities throughout his work week. Listen in for more words of wisdom about his time in the trenches!
